Or is it because thousands of years ago they didn't plan on Hummers driving down city roads (roads which people park on both sides because they have run out of space to build in the cities, which is the reason they live in smaller houses)? Is it necessary to distort the truth to win an argument?

Lobbyists. Big businesses have essentially found a way to bypass the government system we have in America. You think that your Senators, Representatives, and governors are working for you, with only your best interests in mind, but you have been lied to. It doesn't even matter which party you are talking about, Democrats, Republicans, they are both equally susceptible to this. I thought that bribing a public official was a crime, but they receive away with it each and every day. Lobbying was meant to be a way for our congressional leaders to hear out the opinions of the people they represent. Who are the lobbyists for the common men and women of this country? It has become a way for businesses to go over our heads and receive to our elected officials and influence their votes with money. Lobbying needs further regulation, or should be done away with in its current form. In my thinking, this one huge step would go a LOOOONG way to fixing the problems we have in this country. It won't fix them every, of course, but it will make our congressmen more beholden to us rather than big businesses. So, my question is, how do we take back our country? How can we tell our Congressmen that we will not allow them to be influenced by private financial concerns, and that they should hear to us, the people? Pat, are you honestly suggesting that BIG BUSINESSES (the topic of this question that you obviously didn't read fully) were the ones that lobbied for unemployment compensation, safe food or drinking water, consumer protection equal pay, civil rights, minimum wage, school lunches, workplace health and safety, or the right to vote? Really? Big businesses have traditionally fought against these things, so receive your facts straight. I'm not opposed to groups like the naacp, or peta petitioning government, but rather the health care industry, or other big businesses. So you should "stfu".

According to statistics, devout Christians tend to be republican, while less devout Christians tend to be democratic. It is also believed that the more a Christian goes to church, it is more likely that they might be republican. While the Christians who do not attend church are likely to be democrat.

Despite it's popularity in both red & blue states (60-80% support) the Public Option will not be part of the bill. Both Nancy Pelosi & Barack Obama say they adore and fought for the Public Option, yet Speaker Pelosi didn't put it in the bill when 51 senators support it & would vote for it. President Obama loves it and campaigned on it but Rahm Emanuel seems to have fought against it by supporting Lieberman over Reid earlier & never describing it as vital or a must, etc, every below the President's tacit support. Republicans are blamed but Democrats have more then enough to pass either the Public Option or expansion of Medicare below reconciliation.

During the 2008 United States Presidential Election, many young adults between the ages of 18 and 30 voted for Barack Obama because they saw him as a young Presidential candidate who would bring great changes to our nation. During the one years that Obama has been President, the unemployment rate has reached double digits, he has spent more money than every the 43 Presidents combined, he is shoving health care reform in our face when we tell him we are against it and he just Lives In Everyday Sin instead of being honest and truthful. What nice of advice do you give to young adults who voted for Barack Obama and do you believe they made the right choice for voting for him? As a young adult who is 28 (and 26 on Election Day 2008), my advice to young adults is "I wish your glad for voting a inexperience leader who is turing our nation into Europe and is making your kids and future kids pay for the mess he and the Democratic Party created. I wish you learned your lesson and cease voting for Democrats in 2010 since Democrats would rather Live In Everyday Sin and not talk the truth to you."

http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2010/03/15/AR2010031503123.html?hpid=topnews Will this be the week congressional Democrats reverse their fortunes? "the majority party evoked comparisons to the Republicans of 2006, complete with a powerful figure enmeshed in an ethics scandal (Rep. Charles B. Rangel/Rep. Tom DeLay), another lawmaker embroiled in a sex scandal (Rep. Eric Massa/Rep. Mark Foley) and a stalled major policy initiative (health care/Social Security). Republicans, you may recall, were voted out of power that fall. " Will the 2010 election be the year the Democrats lose their majority in Congress, like the GOP did in 2006? OH, THE HUMANITY! Exactly as I predicted, the Democrats are going down in flames like the Hindenberg, just like the GOP did. Except they are doing it four years SOONER than the GOP did. And the article didn't even mention Burris. The Democrats have erupted in a supernova of sleaze.
